Haley Cristenson   Practicum Student

 

Haley’s love for dogs began at a young age, always

drawn to their presence and choosing to let them

approach her on their own terms. Initially believing

she would need to wait until she had the perfect

space to live a life with dogs, her perspective

changed when she discovered the Service Dog &

Canine Studies Management program at Medicine

Hat College. This discovery shifted her world,

revealing that she could build a career working with

dogs while helping others.

Throughout the 16-month program, Haley gained valuable experience raising and training three service dogs in training, further expanding her understanding of canine behavior and training. Now, as she approaches the end of this chapter, Haley looks forward to applying her knowledge and skills during her practicum placement at Sit, Stay, Come & Play.
